WROAR NewsWROAR Ride 2010
What a wonderful day! While June 13th dawned dreary and raining, the day brightened up just about the time riders were heading out to get to the ride, and turned out glorious; thank you mother nature! Riders came from as far away as Ottawa, Kingston and Guelph to support the Toronto Rape Crisis Centre / Multicultural Women Against Rape - how amazing is that? We have an amazing group of riders supporting our event, and we'd like to thank you all. Together we raised over $6,000.00!

Unfortunately this photo, taken of the WROAR booth an hour before the show opened, doesn't give you a very accurate impression of just how busy the Spring Motorcycle Show was this year.
The Toronto International Spring Motorcycle Show expanded this year to fill 3 halls at the International Centre, and the motorcycling public seemed keen to experience the newly expanded show. We were offered the opportunity to expand our WROAR booth, and you can see in the photo we've made Pinky and the CBR feel right at home with a road theme. We handed out new bonus-point coupons, and talked to lots of riders, both women and men, who are looking forward to our new 'Treasure Hunt' ride format this year. Several clubs and groups seemed to take an interest in our new format too. We hope to see all of you out on June 13th for our biggest WROAR Ride ever!
Back this year, by popular demand, our WROAR theme painted bike Pinky, the Honda VTR250 again graced the WROAR booth in Hall 2 at the 2010 SUPERSHOW. We always love the SUPERSHOW! We were happy to have the chance to meet so many WROAR riders from past years, as well as riders keen to come out to the WROAR Ride for the first time. Our new treasure hunt ride format is generating a lot of interest, and we'll be making more 'bonus points announcements' at the Spring Motorcycle Show in April, and here in this website!
The WROAR Ride Booth at the December motorcycle show was captured here in a quiet moment on Friday, most of the weekend the committee and volunteers helping staff the WROAR booth were kept busy talking to WROAR Riders from past years, and talking about plans for this upcoming treasure hunt ride. The first two 'points hints' we've revealed: we'll be giving bonus points for wearing an old-syle WROAR Ride t-shirt, and for vehicles with a third wheel, MP3's, Spyders, trikes, sidecars and whatever else shows up with a third wheel.
Note to visitors: this new 'low-wattage' version of the WROAR Ride website requires less electricity to view and generates less light pollution. A small savings that adds up with 3,000 to 4,000 visitors per month. Our way to rebalance the karma of our carbon footprint as internal combustion enthusiasts.
